JAN ESPY AWARD WINNERS

Marcola School District Board Members want to Recognize our students monthly for exceptional performance at school.

ESPY: Exceptional Student Performance this Year – award is given to students doing well academically and having an exceptionally positive attitude about school. They demonstrate respect and responsibility towards staff and their peers.  They show courage by not conforming to Peer pressure and refusing to accept anyone who bullies.

The MSD School Board and the District want to recognize these students by celebrating their success at the beginning of each monthly Board Meeting.  Students receive a certificate, meet each of our Board members, and their names are announced on the district website.

January 2025 ESPY Winners are;

Leland Edwards- 5th grade nominated by Alan Shafer

“Everyday Leland arrives at school eager to learn. He consistently demonstrates a strong determination to grasp all the material we cover, never faltering in the face of challenges. Leland actively engages in small group and whole class activities, infusing them with his infectious positivity.

Leland is one of the kindest students in 5th grade. He is always willing to help out a classmate in any situation. He is also consistently one of the first to help in the classroom, whether cleaning or passing out papers. I am so proud of all of Leland’s hard work and the strong effort he brings each day.”

Madiline Paulino - 8th grade nominated by MMS Staff

Madiline is always respectful to staff and provides a great example for her peers to follow in the way she conducts herself inside and outside of class.  Madiline has an amazing ability to remain calm, respectful, and responsible even when other students experience challenges in these areas.  She leads by example and is very kind to her peers.

Madiline gets her homework in on time, has incredible focus in class, and puts in great effort on her projects and tests. Madiline has remained exceptional in these areas since I've known her.  I am confident that Madiline will continue to make the lives better of everyone around her. - Rob Jerome
