April ESPY

Marcola School District Board Members want to Recognize our students monthly for exceptional performance at school.

ESPY: Exceptional Student Performance this Year – award is given to students doing well academically and having an exceptionally positive attitude about school. They demonstrate respect and responsibility towards staff and their peers.  They show courage by not conforming to Peer pressure and refusing to accept anyone who bullies.

The MSD School Board and the District want to recognize these students by celebrating their success at the beginning of each monthly Board Meeting.  Students receive a certificate, meet each of our Board members, and their names are announced on the district website.

April 2024 ESPY Winners are;

Raegan Binford - 1st  grade nominated by Michelle Mercer

“Raegan is a model student and friend to all that meet her. She consistently turns in her best work with attention to detail. She loves challenging herself and frequently asks if she can keep working to go above and beyond with writing tasks. Raegan's quality of work has been exceptional in all areas all year.

Most importantly, Raegan has always shown kindness, patience, and willingness to help whenever she can. 1st grade has really been lucky to have a student and friend like Raegan!”

Jolee Ford-Beshara - 7th grade nominated by MMS Staff

“Jolee arrives to class early and is always ready to learn.  She has made TREMENDOUS gains in her note taking and is always attentive in class.

She provides an excellent example to students around her by showing great focus and truly caring about her learning.

She is often one of the first students to complete her work and the quality of her work has improved by leaps and bounds over the course of the year.

She is exceptional in areas that go beyond the questions on this nomination form.  According to Ms. Lowry, she is an excellent actress. Her artistic skills are also truly impressive.  She is also an excellent friend and brings positive energy to those around her at MMS.”

Annabel Bingham - 10th grade nominated by MHS Staff

“Annabel Bingham has been selected by the staff as this month's ESPY winner. Annabel continuously produces high level work and is a kind, thoughtful, and helpful student.

Annabel has been excelling academically for years and continues to push herself, resulting in a 4.0 GPA and impressive PSAT scores. All teachers enjoy having her as a student because of her focus on learning and desire to do well every day. Her attendance is exceptional, and that commitment correlates with her high level of success.

Annabel is a kind student who would never make others feel uncomfortable, or participate in bullying. She treats staff and students with respect, and can be counted on to be a positive peer in all situations.

Annabel is quiet, and does not always speak up in class, but her work and behavior speaks for itself. We feel fortunate to have Annabel as a student, and member of the Mohawk community, and we are excited to award her with the ESPY award this month.”

These students are all shining examples of the MSD spirit, and we are thrilled to be able to recognize them for being exceptional students.
