School Board
Marcola School Board Members are elected each year and usually meet once a month unless a special hearing is held. School Board Members volunteer their time to work with district staff and administrators to execute our collective vision for the youth of our great community. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us the school board online or come to one of our public monthly hearings.
Regular board meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Monday of each month at 6 PM.
There is a delay between the time the board makes policy changes and the time those changes are available on this site. The policies on this site are for information only and do not reflect any updating activities in progress. Official policies and administrative regulations are available from Heather VanderPloeg at 541-933-2512.
Budget Committee
Vacancy - four positions vacant
The Marcola School District has four openings for its 2025-26 Budget Committee and is seeking District residents to fill the positions.
The Budget Committee has ten members. Five are current School Board members, while the remaining five, including the vacant positions, are appointed by the School Board. Its function is to approve a budget for the next school year. The Budget Committee does not determine programs but only spending levels. Once the Budget Committee approves a budget, the School Board will make the final adoption.
To be eligible to serve on the committee, applicants (1) must live in the District, (2) must not be an officer or employee of the District, and (3) must be a registered voter of the District. Budget Committee members are appointed for a 3-year term.
The Board invites interested community members to submit an application to be considered for appointment to the Budget Committee. Applications should be submitted to Heather VanderPloeg at the Marcola School District Office, 38300 Wendling Rd, Marcola, OR 97454, or by email to hvanderploeg@marcola.k12.or.us by 4:00 p.m. on November 8th, 2024.
