Title 1

Title 1-A is a federal program that provides supplementary academic services to students who have the greatest academic need. Schools qualify and are funded for Title 1-A services based on their free/reduced lunch percentages or other poverty measures. In the Marcola School District, Marcola Elementary qualifies as Title 1 school.

Marcola Elementary is a school-wide Title 1 school, which means any students needing extra help may receive supplemental help in reading and/or math, as limited funding allows.

Title 1 spending decisions are made at the school-wide program planning meeting. Parents, teachers, and administrators are all members of this team.

Each year parents are asked to volunteer to help plan the Title 1 program at their child’s building. Parent activities are a large part of this plan.

Please contact your child’s school for more information.

In compliance with the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) all of Marcola Elementary’s Title I teachers and paraprofessionals are Highly Qualified.
